• Taking Rs 30,000 for work and not doing anything in that regard

I had given a person Rs 30,000 and Rs 500,000 to complete work and they didn't finish the work now they are no where to be seen.

What steps should I take for the same?

This is clear of case of cheating. File a criminal complaint in the Court of Magistrate  for cheating as police will hesitate of register FIR. A direction will be given to police to investigate and file FIR, produce the accused in Court, submit charge sheet and after trial, court will send them to jail. You can also file criminal complaint even if their address is not known, police will trace them. No use filing any complaint in District Consumer Commission.

If you are having the details of them, i.e., address or phone number, you can lodge a police complaint for the acts of cheating and breach of trust etc.

If you have evidence for having given the amount you can file a money recovery suit in addition to the criminal complaint

As the person has stopped responding or have fled after taking the money for doing a specific job, this would come under cheating, fraud and criminal breach of trust for which a criminal complaint can be filed with the police u/s 406, 415 & 420 of the IPC.

Alternatively, you can also file a private complaint to a magistrate to get FIR registered and investigation ordered in your case.

Dear client,  I am sorry to hear that but in this a measure can taken in two ways.

1. If there is any form of contact between two of you then you can file a petition for enforcement of contract or ask for compensation.

If not, then you can go to your nearby police station and register an FIR against that person on the ground of fraud.

1. Was there a work order or any agreement for completion of work against taking money?

2.Have you made the payment through Bank?

3. If yes, then you can lodge a police complaint against them for cheating you and thereafter can file a Recovery Suit against them.

- If you having proof of the payment to the said person or has done online mode , then you can recover the paid amount from his legally .

- Since, he is unseen , then you can lodge a complaint against him before the police official for the offence of cheating and breach of trust.

- Further , if the police not take any action against him or not tried to trace him , then you can file a complaint before the magistrate .
