• Call and show notice sent

I have received a call cum show notice for a good that has been recognized by the customs as an undervalued good.
This is worrying for me as i have no idea on how to go about this.
Is it good enough if i send an email to them with the invoice enclosed?
someone also suggested that i approach the courier company and provide them with the notice and invoice and ask them to get the clearance for the package.
Also will i be receiving a penalty ?

What are the goods imported by you ?

are there any comparable imports of said goods in India ?

you have to prove that goods have not been under valued

send reply to show cause notice

you would be granted personal hearing

if goods are found to be undervalued you would have to pay penalty

An offence of imported goods not corresponding in respect of value with entry made under Customs Act under Section 11 (m) is alleged to have committed by you. Penalty for such offence is amount of value of goods or 5K rupees which ever is higher. The  offence can be compounded by the  Chief Commissioner. Penalty can be paid online and possession of goods can be obtained.

If you have received notice from customs for the reasons stated therein, you may find out how this lapse of undervalue has taken place.

Besides you have proof to prove the value of the items you have imported and the correct customs duty paid as per the value assessed, then you can give a proper reply notice mentioning the facts and challenge their notice if it really their mistake and you have nothing to do with their false assessment

If need be you can take the assistance of an advocate to give a proper reply to the customs department for the show cause notice issued to you in this regard

You have been served with a notice and have been instructed to act accordingly as per the instructions contained therein.

If you feel that it would be safe and proper to pay the prescribed fine then you may do that or else you can give a reply through email too.

You can consult an advocate and proceed

You should visit custom officer personally, and check whether the items are under customs criminal records. kindly pay the penalty and give under taking in writing in future you will not perform such act.

Dear Client,

The government decides on products prohibitions and restrictions from time to time through international trade policy. To summarize, for particular items on import/export, a No Objection Certificate from the Commodity Board may be necessary in order to protect local commodity manufacturers, which in India is the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization. Forms 42 and 43 of the 1940 Drugs and Cosmetics Act govern the Directorate General of Health Services.

Thank You.
