Don't inform anything to police till you appoint any good lawyer
Hello, I have taken services from an escort agency in Mumbai just now at my home. Immediately after the escort left, the contact person called me and you'd me that one of the people I transferred money to has been arrested and police wants 2lacs. I am trying to understand if I can be legally implicated for payment of money to the 1. contact person (paid 40k) 2. To the escort (paid 12k) Should I inform police around the issue for the agency has my address and location.
First answer received in 30 minutes.
Lawyers are available now to answer your questions.
Can the escort put a charge against me for forced coitus? We had engaged in physical relationship once but did not finish it.

No need to bow down to pressure tactics
dont pay Rs 2 lakhs demanded by agency
3) record the threats received by you
4) file police complaint against agency for extortion under section 384 of IPC
During the entire years of practicing as a lawyer, I've dealt with many cases as of your. In most of the cases the escort elservice providers only make such calls to their clients just to extort more money. There are many points which can save you but those can't be discussed here. Keep in mind, you must not go to police at your own.
Do not pay single penny to them hence forth. If they ask you for money kindly tell them that escorts are illegal services then why you are running. If that person is caught that is not your business. So you have not been caught red-handed, you can ignore to his threat.
You don't entertain any claim made by the so called agent demanding money.
If he is threatening then you can approach police.
Since you have not indulged in any activities related to prostitution, you can remain fearless about it.
If the police reportedly arrested the agent you have nothing to do about it, hence you may block him from all contacts list.
She cannot implicate you in any such offence, because it was a voluntary act done by her for money, hence she cannot take any action against you in this regard.
Thank you for your suggestions. It was helpful. They have not tried to contact me this morning.. Can you please suggest, however, if I should preemptively visit the local PS and lodge the FIR under IPC section 384. I am concerned they might come and make a scene at my place.
- Such calls are usually fake with the purpose of extorting money
- Further , having services of a major woman without her consent cannot be termed as an offence , and further if illegally running such services ,then the provider of such service will be arrested firstly.
- Hence, if you are receiving such calls , then lodge a compliant against that call/person before the police without narrating the true facts of service availed by you.
- Further, inform the said caller , that a compliant has already filed against him.
Don't take any action in haste.
First you block them from your contact list.
If they arrive at your doorstep then you can call police by dialling 100 and seek protection.
The first thing to remember is never to take matters into your own hands. What really happens is that simply complying with the demands can often lead to further demands or even having the blackmailer carry out the coercive threat simply out of spite once you have complied. Finding and punishing wrongdoers is what the police are for. Approach them first as blackmail and extortion are crimes under 383 and 384 of IPC, and it is their obligation to enforce the law.
What you can do next is talk to an attorney, who is bound by attorney-client privilege not to reveal your secrets. See if they can add a perspective that might make you feel better about not complying with the blackmailer's demands and dealing with the possible fallout.
this is a clear case of blackmail
the escort provided her services by consent and against her charges, and there is nothing wrong in that. Even the Supreme Court has very recently held that prostitution is a profession
if they approach you again you can tell them that you will report to the Police Station
if they are pestering you then you must put a written complaint in the concerned Police Station for criminal intimidation and blackmail [holding someone to ransom]
1. Paying anybody is not a crime as per IPC.
2. In one such case I had advised my client to state that the reason for the said payments are for noting down their experiences for writing an Article in Newspaper. My client was a reported.
3. Do not succumb to any pressure from any corner to extract money from you and do not get panicked.
1. No charge can be put by her legally but the police, being in collusion with her might try to extort money from you.
2. Never accept that you had any physical relationship with her.
