She can claim maintenance only till her marriage.
Daughter have right only on ancestor property.
1. If the father's property is his self acquired property, then the daughter will not have any right over her father's self acquired property during her father's lifetime.
2. In her grandfather's property, a daughter can claim her share in the property if it's ancestral property, i.e., great grandfather''s property inherited by grandfather next to father next to daughter. A daughter will be treated on par with son in ancestral property.
Daughter can only claim share in case the property is and sister in nature. Daughter cannot claim any share in the self acquired property of the father during his lifetime.
Dear Sir,
1. yes daughter is an equal coparcener in family property and can definitely claim her share.
Thank You!
If it is an ancestral property and your father is enjoying his share of ancestral property, the daughter being a coparcener is entitled for a share out of her father's share in the ancestral property.
- Legally a daughter or anyone can claim a right over the property of his/her father during his life time .
- However, she can claim right on the ancestral property , which came to her father from forefathers.
- But , the daughter can claim maintenance , if she needs some more for her education and maintenance.
