• Mistake in mentioning the date in the rectification deed

Hello,

There was a Rectification Deed executed to rectify the Clauses in a Gift Deed. There was a mistake in the Date mentioned in the Heading of the Rectification Deed. Instead of:

"Rectification Deed To The Document Number XXX-XXX-XX Dated [deleted]" the it has been mentioned as, "Rectification Deed To The Document Number XXX-XXX-XX Dated [deleted]". Will this cause any problems in the future?

2.  To avoid any problem which may arise in future, it's better to get the rectification deed done afresh.

The date of execution and registration of the deed would be mentioned in the document,  that should suffice the requirement even if you have forgot to mention the date in the recital.

Rectification deed is executed for  rectify any errors made in a previous deed.It must be clear and concise in language to avoid future complications. It must not alter the scope of the original document or violate any regulations. There is no limitation for executing a rectification or correction deed. If the date and number  is mention in  a rectification deed,it will also contradict the correctness. So rectify mistake happened in rectification deed by mentioning correct date .

1. The remedy now is to cancel the earlier rectification deed to execute a fresh rectification deed.

2. Any discrepancy pertaining to the date of execution of the deed can put the entire title under cloud. Better cure it now.
