A sole proprietorship requires hardly any legal formalities A sole proprietorship is the most common type of business.

1) you would need licence under shops and establishment act

2) you would need to open bank account in name of sole proprietorship concern

3) for opening bank account RBI has laid down detailed guidelines

Certificate/licence issued by the Municipal authorities under Shop & Establishment Act,

Sales and income tax returns

CST/VAT certificate

Certificate/registration document issued by Sales Tax/Service Tax/Professional Tax authorities

Licence issued by the Registering authority like Certificate of Practice issued by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Indian Medical Council, Food and Drug Control Authorities, registration/licensing document issued in the name of the proprietary concern by the Central Government or State Government Authority/ Department, etc.

The complete Income Tax return (not just the acknowledgement) in the name of the sole proprietor where the firm's income is reflected, duly authenticated/ acknowledged by the Income Tax Authorities.

Utility bills such as electricity, water, and landline telephone bills in the name of the proprietary concern.

Any two of the above documents would suffice. These documents should be in the name of the proprietary concern.

Since you are solely opening it, Proprietorship is best option. NO prior approval required. If scope of PH business is large than One men company is other option but more procedure to follow.

In order to register a company in this sector, the promoter will need to set up a legal entity - so registration of P Firm is mandatory.

P F will register under Shop and Establishment Act. Following documents are required: Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Bank Account, Registered office proof.

Well first determine whether you want to make this business on your sole name or on forming a company or a LLP or a partnership firm.

Depending on the choice you will have to set up such entity.

Then you need space, trade licence, license on shop and establishment act, membership of Publishers Guild etc.

So meet a local advocate who can assist you on this.

Proprietorship Firm Registration. Sole Proprietorship firms are one of the most commonly seen business types in our country.

Sole Proprietorship Firm Registration is Single Person Firm Registration i.e is the main objective is Open Current Bank Account on the Name of Business so it's a simply firm which is enable doing business in India with Less Compliance and Less Costing. a Sole Proprietorship Firm require minimum 2 Legal Entity Proof for open a Current Bank Account.

PAN card of the proprietor;

Electricity/Water bill (of place of business);

Copy of Aadhar/Voter identity card.

A Proprietorship business needs no registration. Therefore, it is one of the easiest to start with no formalities. However, after starting up the Proprietorship, it is relatively harder to open a bank account or obtain a payment gateway in the name of the business - since more registrations may be required.

Since the name of a Proprietorship is not registered, a Proprietorship can choose to have any name - as long as it does not infringe on a registered trademark. However, since the name is not registered, any other person can also use the same business name unless trademark registration is obtained.

A Proprietorship with less than Rs. 2 lakhs of income is not required to pay any income tax, as Proprietorship firms  are taxed as the individual owning the business. However, once, income of the business exceeds Rs. 10 lakhs per annum, there are no major advantages for a Proprietorship in terms of taxation.

To start a sole proprietorship in India, all you need is a bank account. Go to a bank, open a bank account in the name of the company that you wish to operate in - and you are on.

Shops and Establishment Act governs the working conditions and rights of workers engaged in the unorganized sector. This includes wage payments, leaves and holidays, work hours, etc. Shop/Trade licenses are State subject and the rules differ accordingly.

This license is mandatory for all business entities, even if you are working from home. It covers - shops, commercial establishments, restaurant, hotel, theatre, public amusement, and retail trade/business. Every establishment needs to to register itself within 30 days of commencement.

1. You can start as a sole proprietor.

2. There is no registration needed in order to start a sole proprietorship business. You don't have to go to an online registration portal and fill up a form or submit any documents. However, you do need to open a current account with a bank in the name of the business. No ROC IS required, because you are not a company - you are a proprietorship.

3. License under shops and establishment act is required to be obtained.

4. Take GST certificate and you are on.

you need to registered business entity that you want to run as a publishing company, which in your case is a Private Ltd. Co. However, to publish any book or book like products, e.g. Education Chart, you can register yourself on www.isbn.gov.in and get an International Standard Book Number that uniquely identifies books and book like products published internationally. The purpose of an ISBN is to allow efficient marketing of products by book sellers, libraries, universities, wholesaler and distributors by establishing and identifying one title or edition of a title from one specific publisher. Many major book selling chains and internet book sellers require this number for internal processing and ordering systems. The ISBN, also, provides access to bibliographic details of the books that could help sales of publication.However it is advisable to get Trademark registration done in order to secure your intellectual property.
