You dont listen to the ill-advise of many people in this regard.

If you have decided to change your name from this name to the desired name, you can very well proceed following the procedures that are applicable for change of name which you have mentioned that you are aware of it.

After the changed name has been published in the government gazette publication you may keep the cop[y of the publication along with your certificates so that you can handle all the problems effectively that may arise in this regard

Yes changing of name under ordinary circumstances is not advisable due to complications arising out of discrepancy on name of a same person.

However if you still want to do so you can do this by way of making an affidavit from a first class magistrate and then making a newspaper publication.

1. Change of name is not difficult. What is difficult is to incorporate the changed name in all the documents.

2. You can incorporate your changed name in all your documents of identity such as Passport, Adhaar, Driving Licence, PAN Card and Voter ID. However, the name cannot be changed in the matriculation and 12th documents as these documents were prepared and issued on the basis of your name which existed in school records.

If your 10th and 12th educational certificate name is Chaman Sharma than continue with the same name do not change. let it be on paper same name and keep your pet name different which you like so ask all your family members and friends to call you by pet name only.

So many people have two names in the their life and they are called by the both names at a same time by two different people.

Changing name is easy, but, its consequences are tedious. You have to face challenges in every sphere, as your certificates of education will not tally with your changed name. I will advise, not to change name.

Sir for changing  name you will have to make a  notification in the official gazette and giving add in 2 local newspapers along with the supporting affidavit.

As far as the consequences are concerned, your all government documents can be changed with the new name except your 12th certificate. You can always have the official gazette notification along with the 12th certificate which will clarify the Chaman lal alias (new name) are the same persons.

it is advisable that change your name only, if it is very important for you or it is unavoidable.

Don't worry brother! It is your choice what name you want for yourself.

Once you change name as per your choice fulfulling and following all legal procedures then that new name will be legally acceptable for every documents in future.

I would suggest not to alter your name from board marksheets. You need to provide documents supporting your name change and that will be enough.

For aadhaar PAN Passport and every other documents, your new name will be updated easily.

- If you want to change your name , then what about your passed out certificates .

- As per rule , one can change or correct name in his certificates & Mark-sheet within the 2 years from the date of passing the same.

- Hence, if you will change your name in other documents , then may face problems for finding a job in future.

- After executing an affidavit and publishing in the news paper and finally after publishing in the official Gazette , you change your name in all the documentary proofs like adhar card etc.

No problem. Gazette notification will issue by collector and on the basis of it, you can replace name in all govt. Documents.

Change of name in academic certificates will be long process but can apply for issue of duplicate certificates with changed name. Otherwise G notification will solve the name discrepancy.

Yes, who ever advised you, it is correct, it is not risky but, cumbersome process, at each and every place you need to provide  supporting document of name change with that of original name.

Further, going forward, if any query is raised by any departmental organization it is difficult and time consuming to explain them.

As far as name change procedure is concerned:

You can get the same published in two local news papers one in vernacular and second one in English language.

Get the same published in Official Gazette alongwith an affidavit which will contain particulars of name change.

Thereafter, you need to get your name changed in Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Driving Licence, Passport etc.

It is advisable to continue with your original name.
