I didn't ask do i need to pay money if iam unemployed... What my question is 1) Do i need to pay Life long maintenance to my wife and child 2) If she gets married to another person, do i need to still pay her... Thanks in advance...

1) you need to pay maintenance to your wife for life unless she remarries . if she is working court may not order maintenance .
2) but you have to maintain your child till he is able to stand on his feet .

What can happen if the husband refuses to pay the maintenance though he could afford to pay ? How long will he go to prison ?

you have to take out application for execution. that warrant of arrest be issued for recovery of maintenance amount . once arrest warrant is issued he will pay as he wont like to go to jail
