• Hearing in Circuit bench

Hello, I have filed a case in NCDRC and hearing has started. I also hear about circuit benches that keep happening time to time in different cities. Is there a process to request my case to be handled through any such bench in my city (Bangalore) or court automatically allocates this as per complaintnant's location? Kindly let me know
Thanks,
Rajiv

Next circuit bench will held at Kolkatta. Ready held in Blore, next till take time. Cases list for hearing in circuit benches acc. to year of admission. This decides by Chairmen (PO) - NCDRC.

Rare possible that fresh matters will heard - old matters are list for early disposal.

1. Circuit Bench of NCDRC is not a routine or static court and functions only on specified /designated dates, for only certain type of cases that have reached certain stage.

2. You can move application before NCDRC, for consideration to send matter to Circuit Bench of your City, as & when designated.

If the case has started then don't intervene and let it finish there.

The Central government has notified several places including Chandigarh for holding Circuit Benches under Section 22 C of the Consumer Protection Act. Earlier, the sittings have taken place at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Cochin, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Shimla Kolkata and Nagpur.

Justice (Retired) DK Jain, President of the National Commission is credited with the move of holding Circuit Benches of NCDRC outside New Delhi. The aim was fast redressal of complaints that come from various state commissions. You may watch for the dates from the consumer forum website

1. Circuit benches are notified depending on the pendency of cases in a particular region.

2. Nothing stops you from making a request.

Circuit benches of NCDRC sits on major cities once in a year at a scheduled time and dates.

By no means you can ask for it at your convenient  time .

So it is foolish to wait for it and only if in that time if your case is fixed for hearing then the Bench on its own would fix yours in the circuit bench or you can request for it.
