• Wrong link document number in EC

When I search for Encumbrance certificate - it shows me wrong document linked to my Sale deed. Instead of 18888/2015 it is linked to 1888/2015 - and so, it's completely wrong. In my sale deed, all details are mentioned correctly.

Registrar office is too far from my place - what are my options? Whom to meet, where to meet. How will it be done?

A change or rectification in the documents can only be done by the registrar office.  Engage an advocate who will do all these things on your behalf.

Normally any transaction which is registered will get reflected in the Encumbrance Certificate (E.C). At times there might be missing entry in the EC. This can be stated to the concern Sub-registrar and he/she will issue a fresh corrected E.C. Get it scrutinized by a good property lawyer in your locality.

From where did you get this information?

If you want to rectify the same then you may have to approach the registrar's office and submit an application by attaching the copies of the documents and request for rectification of the entries reflecting in the EC.
