• What documents are required for Indian citizen to marry abroad?

I am Indian Citizen and my girlfriend/future wife is Croatian. We want to get married In Croatia, I am asked to bring My birth certificate (Apostille) , No Impediment Certificate(Apostille), and a Document which says I am allowed to marry abroad(Unsure about the specific name of the document) also Apostille, They require the above documents also to be translated in Croatian.
Where can I arrange these documents in India especially where can I get those document translated(to Croatian) and Apostille, Is there any documentation of my girlfriend also required to get those above documents?

Why don`t you get married at Indian consulate, no such docuemtns require except Birth certificate.  BC you must have, CNI not available but it will be affidavit declaring you unmarried , this all will Apostille at Indian Embassy. In Indian at regional office of external affairs.

Your KYC documents verified by the Notary public if you are resident in India. This includes passport, adaar card, batchlorhood affidavit and address proof.

If you are living abroad the same documents should be authenticated by embassy in that country.

Please also check the country specific requirements.

Hello,

  1. It is the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in India that issues the required Apostille.
  2. You need to make the application online at

    https://mea.gov.in/apostille.htm

  3. Once you apply and make the requisite fee the MEA will do the needful and send you the Apostille that you can submit to the country whew you need to use them.
  4. For translation of the documents into Croatian you need to take the help of any agency that has the approval of MEA.
  5. You won't require the documents of your girlfriend to obtain the documents.

1. Under which Act, you want to register your marriage in Croatia? Is it as per Act of Croatia?

2. You can also register your marriage as per Foreign Marriage Act, 1969 before the appropriate officer of Indian Consulate in Croatia.

3. However, for the said documents asked by you, you can contact your local Indian Consulate.

You can obtain your birth certificate from the office of the registrar of births and deaths of the place where you took birth, you can obtain no impediment certificate in the form of an affidavit duly notarised, you can obtain no objection certificate from the Indian embassy or Indian consulate for Croatia or from Ministry of Home affairs, New Delhi.

After getting all these documents you may get them Apostilled from the office of Ministry of home affairs in Delhi, get the documents translated from the Embassy of Croatia located in New Delhi.

You can take the assistance of a consultant or an advocate if you find any difficulty in getting all the said documents.

You can get the original documents from India.

If you have Birth certificate then you can get it apostille from Indian Embassy of carotia.

You can get No impediment certificate from http://mea.gov.in/apostille.htm

This is the certificate which also states that your are allowed to marry abroad.

And for translation you can contact Indian embassy of carotia.
