Subject : I am upset that Axis bank have not allowed me to transfer amount to my bank account and then they charged me for not maintaining minimum balance when I was trying to do it.

My axis account was converted from 0 balance to regular account without my notice.

I was NOT given notice to fill my account with minimum balance some amount on email.

I have emails of more than 6 months all containing crappy advertisements from axis like home loan, mutual funds , fixed deposits etc.. but there was no clear email that stated that I need to refill my account.

Suddenly they started charging 500 rupees per month. The account total 1000 rupees approx . They also locked my account so that I could not refill my account ..

I tried more than twice in last six months to refill my axis account, so that the minimum balance could be maintained but it was returned back in the fund transfer.

I had called previously to axis bank helpdesk, and they said to visit a nearest branch. I went and wrote a letter to reactivate fund transfer into that account. But still there is not effect.

I am upset that Axis bank have not allowed me to transfer amount to my bank account and then they charged me for not maintaining minimum balance when I was trying to do it.

it appears that due to no transactions happening in your account the bank flagged your account as dormant or inactive

due to the above you were not able to deposit amount into your account

you should have first reactivated the bank account by doing a KYC again

thereafter you could have transferred money into the revived account

however it is completely illegal on the bank's part to convert your 0 balance account into a regular account without any notice

please take the issue with the branch manager by writing a stern letter and ask to reverse all the charges for not maintaining the minimum balance

Escalate this issue with the customer care cell of Axis Bank. In case the customer care people are unable to redress your grievances, send them a legal notice calling upon them to waive off the fine that they have imposed on you.

Also, seek damages through this legal notices. If the issue remains unaddressed despite your legal notice, approach the Banking Ombudsman or the Consumer Forum against this bank.

See you can issue legal notice to axis Bank for setting aside the penalty and reactivating the account and further paying you compensation for mental harassment and you were not informed of change in account from 0 to minimum balance.

If they fails to do needful as notice file a consumer complaint before the consumer court.claiming compensation.

Well, the incidents you have mentioned is all acts of gross negligence and shoddy practice indulged by the bank which amounts to deficiency of service as well a unfair trade practice as defined in Consumer Protection Act.
