• Statuary ceiling area for irrigated agricultural land in Uttar Pradesh

What is the statuary ceiling area for irrigated agricultural land in Uttar Pradesh? In many previous answers it is told to be 12.5 acres (5 Ha). However, when I looked in "Uttar Pradesh Imposition of Ceiling on Land Holdings (Amendment) Act, 1972", I found the limit to be 7.3 hectare. Can someone please clarify what is the thing I am missing? I need this answer to fill obc ncl form for civil services.
Thanks a lot

Hello,

section 5 of the act says it to be 7.3 hc but the same is subject to various conditions including but not limited to the size of the family.

you may go through the section and see as per the facts as to what will be the ceiling that will be applied in your case.

hello

The UP Imposition of Ceiling of Land Holding Act, 1960 provided a high ceiling of 40 acres for fair quality land and if the family was of more than five members it could go up to 64 acres. The Act was amended and the UP Land Ceiling (Amendment) Act, 1972 reduced the ceiling limit to 7.3 hectares.

The ceiling limit is 12.5 acres only, what you have mentioned is old and that has been amended.

in UP there is only a limit of 12.5 acres in the case of agricultural land holdings.

2) you would fall under creamy layer category if Families owns agriculture land having (i) ‘irrigated land’, more than 85% of the statutory ceiling area or (ii) The rule of exclusion will not apply if the land holding of a family is exclusively unirrigated.

Your OBC NCL not related to your financial holding. Other factors are considered in the same. It's 7.30 hectares with 2 crops and 10.95 with one crop in UP
