Your lawyer can do the same for you.

There's no problem at all. He just needs to pull out a certified copy of the divorce decree. This will be an authenticated copy which will also bear the certification of the Court.
Best assured, it will be valid for all purposes.
The decree of divorce is porved by its certified copy. SO even if it is lost or mispalced one can apply for it and get it as many copies as he wants.
So ask him to apply one again.
Hi
If your friend can let any person( parents/ lawyers)know the following
a) Case Number
b) name of the court,
c) year of filing of divorce,
d) year of grant of divorce and
e) names of parties,
then the person can apply for a copy application of divorce decree from the respective court and hand it over to your friend.
A copy of divorce decree will be issued within 20 working days from the date of making the copy application.
Please note that only parents, lawyers so appointed by the party can apply for copy application.
Hope this information is useful..
