We have found many drivers carrying trucks in a factory photocopy of the driving license. Is is valid as per Motor Vehicle Act and the Factory act of India? Or it is non-compliance, we should not allow them to carry trucks with photocopies of DL?

The driver carry coloured copy or black and white photocopy, when they carry truck or tanker for loading /unloading goods. The copies are not attested. Kindly reply from legal compliance perspective. Is factory manager and/or occupier will held reponsible for any incident/ accident happens by the driver carrying photocopy of the license?
He must carry a valid license in physical and not photocopy.
Reason: If his license has been compounded by some authority and he is not disclosing the same to you then it might create a problem. Therefore, it becomes your duty to see the documents in original.

When any traffic policeman asks for your driving license, just show them this copy
It is not necessary to carry physical copies of driving licence any more

In such case manager / occupier would not be held responsible for failure of driver to carry original licence
according to section 18 and 139 of the MV Act, carrying original DL is necessary. photo copy is not allowed. he shall be treated as driving without DL. if any accident occurs he is not eligible for any compensation.
Hii , the licence should be original .. Even if they carry photocopy you can ask them to show the original .. In case of any clamity the owner of the truck and driver will be liable and not the manager

There is no legal infirmity in carrying photo copy of DL, provided it is an authenticated document.
The genuineness of the copy of the DL may be verified in the event of any doubt about it
