• GPA to father from my wife and myself for property registration

Dear All,

Can I make a GPA agreement favouring my father jointly on behalf of my wife and myself? Does that attract any % cost of sale value to be submitted as fee? Situation is, we will travel out of India. Can my father complete the registration process on behalf of us who are co-owners of the property?

You can execute GPA in favour of your father . GPA should be attested before Indian consulate

2) it attracts nominal stamp duty

3)your father can then submit POA for registration

4) if power of attorney is executed by daughter in law in favour of father in law it would attract stamp duty as conveyance on market value of property

1. You and your wife can give POA to your father to represent you and your wife in the jurisdictional Sub-Registrar's Office and to sign in all the official records.

2. The registration can be completed by paying stamp duty + registration fee+ scanning fee+miscellaneous fee + lawyer's fee which may come to around Rs. 30000/-.

For executing GPA no stamp duty on the value of the proeprty is levied.

A. yes, you can execute a POA and specific right to him. POA should be registered and written on stamp paper value not less than rs 200. no percentage of stamp duty is applicable in this matter because POA is being executed in blood relation. your father can complete all the registration process on your behalf.
