• What if I dont have a permanent address ?

I do not have a permanent address because my parents have left the government accommodation where they resided all their life and where I grew up, and now they have distanced themselves from me. I don't have any legal right over their current accommodation, nor any proof of any kind. I myself stay in a rented accommodation. My passport re-issue application requires me to mention a permanent address, which I don't have. What do I mention there ? My current Aadhar card is updated and bears my current (rented accommodation) address.

You can mention your current address as permanent address.

You Can mention the address of your parents as permanent address also provided on police verification they do not make any adverse comment.

Since AADHAR bears your rented accommodation address, use this as permanent one.

It is not possible for all the Indian citizens to have a permanent address in the country.

No authority insists everyone to furnish permanent address.

The passport application would be having two different columns , one for permanent address and another for current address.

If you do not have any permanent address then you can furnish the currents address itself in the permanent address column.

You should be available in the address provided while the police visits for verification.
